MantisStudio, part of the MANTIS/Open developer platform, is an Eclipse based integrated development environment (IDE) for the MANTIS programming language providing comprehensive facilities and runtimes for building, deploying, and managing MANTIS application development across the software development lifecycle.
MantisStudio for the MANTIS Developer is currently configured for only the Windows client platform, however it supports a MANTIS Server on all major server platforms (e.g., z/OS, z/VSE, Linux, UNIX, Windows, and OpenVMS). Future versions will be configured for other client platforms. Click here to view pre-requisite Windows installation requirements for MantisStudio, part of the MANTIS/Open Developer platform.

If your version of Microsoft Windows is NOT listed below, MANTIS will NOT run.
Before you can install MANTIS in one of the supported environments, you must install or activate special Microsoft components.
Below are descriptions of the required Microsoft components that must be installed and activated before MANTIS installation can proceed.
Unzip/extract the Microsoft Windows SFU files to a known location (e.g., C:\TEMP)
Open/Run 'setup' to start the Microsoft Windows SFU Setup Wizard
Then, during the setup/install...,
Select usage of setuid and case sensitive, at the install prompt.
Select Remote User Name Mapping specifying no additional information, at the install prompt.
Complete the installation UNTIL reboot is requested. For Windows SFU, DO NOT reboot. Proceed with Windows SFU Hotfix install for MANTIS (next step)
After Windows SFU installation completes BUT BEFORE reboot!
Using Windows Services administration, STOP the Interix service, if active.
Using Windows Task Manager>Processes Tab, 'End Process' any processes with names starting with 'psx'.
Download and unzip the contents of the SFU hotfix for MANTIS into the Windows system32 folder (e.g., C:\Windows\system32), REPLACING the existing modules (if the unzip does not do a replace you put the files in the WRONG place!).
ALERT: If you are using a multi-core machine you must do the following for MANTIS to run: Update the Windows boot.ini file in the c:\ root directory. You will likely have to remove the read-only attribute in the properties of the file and restore it after you update the file. Make the following change in the boot.ini file; change "/noexecute=OptIn" to "/noexecute=AlwaysOff". Do not use the quotes; they are only used here to emphasize what should be changed within the boot.ini content.
Select usage of setuid and case sensitive, at the install prompt.
Select Remote User Name Mapping specifying no additional information, at the install prompt.
